In contrast to classical wakeboarding, cable wakeboarding does not use a boat. Instead, it involves using a linear cableway system that is secured several metres above the surface of the water. The system has no direct contact with water and doesn’t create waves, making wakeboarding easier and permitting the use of floating structures, different sliding surfaces and a springboard, and additionally allows wakeboarders to perform more tricks, making the activity more dynamic, easier for spectators to view and more interesting for its participants. The system significantly reduces training costs, making wakeboarding more accessible to a broader audience. The similarity of wakeboarding tricks to those of snowboarding and kiteboarding attracts the attention of even more people.
